Preparation for the first day
China First Day is an independent travel preparation project for first-time visitors to China. We organize practical steps for payments, phone setup, airport-to-hotel travel, check-in and useful Mandarin. Our checklists, guides and lightweight tools are available in English and Chinese.
Where the information comes from
For entry, payment, hotel and transport rules, we prioritize information from government agencies, service providers and operators. Articles and guide detail pages link to relevant sources so you can check the original. We do not present desk research as personal testing or examples as official confirmation.
What an update date means
An article’s update date records a substantive revision to that article. It does not mean every service or policy was independently verified that day. Schedules, charges, eligibility and app features can change. Confirm the services you plan to use with the relevant operator before travel.
