If a replacement is needed, have the platform or hotel confirm a room, arrival time and payment terms before you travel there. Do not assume any chain has space or can resolve every document issue.

Save messages and receipts. Ask how the original booking and any refund request will be handled.
Check the new hotel’s address, total price and late check-in arrangements. Confirm the booking in writing where possible.
Keep your passport, phone and luggage with you while arranging the next step.
