Install the official Alipay or WeChat app and register with a phone number you can continue to access while traveling.

In Alipay, check Me → Bank Cards; in WeChat, check Me → Services → Wallet → Cards. Follow your version’s prompts to add your own supported card.

Complete any identity and issuer checks while you have your documents and a stable connection. Check whether approval is complete or still pending.

Ask the card issuer about overseas purchases, authentication abroad and charges. Save support details offline.

After landing, make a small purchase you actually need. Check both the wallet transaction record and the merchant’s confirmation before relying on that method for the next step.
