What to do when payment fails
Payment failing isn't the end of the world. Take a breath, try something else, and if that doesn't work, walk somewhere with staff who can help.
What to do

If the app shows "pending" or spins — stop scanning. You might get double-charged.

Try a different method: other wallet, physical card, or just pay cash.

Walk to a hotel lobby, bank, ticket counter, or big chain store where staff can help you figure it out.

Use your saved Chinese phrases to explain: "My payment isn't working" (我的支付用不了).
