Payment and address checks
Shanghai is super convenient once your basics work. Before you start moving fast, make sure payment, address, map, and hotel contact are all sorted.
What to do

Open your payment app and backup method before you order a ride or buy anything.

Hotel address in Chinese + map pin saved. Both. Sometimes the address is right but the pin is more useful.

Keep a note with: hotel phone, booking number, check-in name. You'll need at least one of these tonight.

If you need to explain a payment problem, use your saved phrase: "My payment isn't working" (我的支付用不了).
Double-check before you rely on this
If one app dies, you can still complete your first route to the hotel.
You can call or message the hotel from your phone.
You have cash or card for small purchases if mobile pay fails.
