China First Day
Train Booking Guide

Luggage and timing

Your train plan should match how much luggage you have and how tired you will be. Tight station transfers are where small problems become expensive.

What to do

  1. 1

Avoid tight transfers on your first intercity rail day.

  2. 2

Use fewer bags if you must take metro or stairs before the train.

  3. 3

Keep passport, ticket information, charger, and water outside your large luggage.

  4. 4

Check station name, station entrance, and walking distance from your accommodation.

Check before you rely on it

  • You can carry your luggage through security and waiting areas.

  • You know whether your first station is a high-speed rail station or another rail terminal.

  • You have a plan if your arrival transport is delayed.
