Arrival point choices
Beijing has two airports (PEK Capital and PKX Daxing) plus several train stations. They're far apart. Know which one you're arriving at and how far it is from your hotel.
What to do
- 1
Save the exact airport or station name. Capital Airport (PEK, T2/T3) is 25km northeast of city center. Daxing Airport (PKX) is 46km south. They're 60km apart — don't mix them up.
- 2
Most international flights land at Capital T3 or Daxing. Check your ticket. Hotels in Dongcheng/Chaoyang are closer to Capital; hotels in Fengtai/Daxing area are closer to PKX.
- 3
Train stations: Beijing Station (central), Beijing West (west side), Beijing South (high-speed from Shanghai), Beijing North (to Badaling). Save the Chinese name of yours: 北京站/北京西站/北京南站/北京北站.
- 4
Don't plan sightseeing before check-in. The Forbidden City will still be there tomorrow.
