What to do

    Before you board, send the hotel your flight number and rough arrival time. A message on the booking app works fine.

    Ask the hotel for its actual check-in cutoff and how to keep the booking if the flight is delayed.

    Save their reply and front desk phone number where you can find it offline.

    If things change during travel (longer delay, missed connection), update them before your phone dies.

Double-check before you rely on this

  • The hotel has 24-hour reception, or you know their cutoff time.

  • You understand the cancellation/no-show policy for your booking.

  • You have a backup hotel nearby in case something goes really wrong.
